Window Sellers Not From Comhairle or HHP

Door step sales operators who claim to work for the Comhairle or Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) are calling on households in Lewis.

These operators, who offer to measure up windows with a view to a sale, do not work for the Comhairle or HHP.

Genuine callers from the Comhairle or HHP will show I.D.    

A spokesperson for the Comhairle said: “These are not genuine Comhairle or HHP staff. If you are in any doubt ask to see the caller’s I.D.”

An HHP spokesperson said: “HHP do not currently have any contractors carrying out window replacements in or around Stornoway.  HHP will always notify tenants in advance by letter regarding any planned work to be carried out to their homes . Contractors working for HHP are required to provide photographic identification.”
