Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar’s (CNES) Strategic Housing Investment Plan has a commitment to develop 24 houses on the site at Scott Rd between 2024 to 2026.
As we have worked with engineers to develop a suitable plan for new homes at Scott Road, an opportunity for a Phase 2 future development has been identified but a decision needs to be taken now on whether this opportunity is created. This is because the ground and engineering works needed to develop a Phase 2 for any future use would need to be carried out now along with the Phase 1 works. The ground work cannot be carried out at a later date because the work required would present a risk to the Phase 1 houses which will already have been built.
The North Harris Trust and CNES have therefore asked Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) to carry out a public consultation to determine if there is community support for creating this opportunity for a Phase 2 of houses.
A consultation event is being held in the Tarbert Community Hall on 1st February 2024 (Thursday) from 3pm to 7pm.
Officers from the Comhairle, HHP and their agents TIG will be on hand to provide further information and to answer any questions that you may have. We want to hear people’s views on this which will also determine North Harris Trust decisions on making the land available for a Phase 2.
